Animal Incident Awareness and Safety Day: Preparing for the Unexpected

Join us at the Cavalier Centre for a crucial Animal Incident Awareness and Safety Day designed to equip the public with the knowledge and confidence to understand how emergency responders handle incidents involving animals.

Whether you are a horse owner, a pet lover, or simply want to be prepared, this event is essential for anyone who may find themselves involved in an animal incident. Attendees will gain vital insight into what to do in the immediate aftermath of an event, what to expect from professional responders, and which agencies are key.

The day will feature comprehensive, live demonstrations from the BARTA and Resquip Team, who will walk you through their approach to an animal incident. You will learn first hand about the specialised equipment they use and the rescue techniques employed to safely extract and manage animals in distress. Furthermore, we are pleased to welcome Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, who will provide invaluable information on farm and stable fire safety, including best practices for emergency evacuation plans.

To round out this educational day the International Horse Agility Club will present a demonstration on the value of proactive training. Learn practical, engaging exercises you can teach your animal to better equip them to cope if they are ever involved in an incident. This approach focuses on preparedness beyond the emergency response, emphasising how a calm, well-schooled animal is the first line of defence. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to invest in awareness and readiness—secure your spot today and be prepared to protect your animal companions.
