New Trustee Appointment 2025

New Trustee Appointment 2025

We are looking for special people to join our trustee board.  Can you help us to create the biggest social impact possible by supporting our vision of enriching and empowering lives through horses?

About the Centre: The Cavalier Centre first opened its doors in April 2019.  Although it was closed periodically during Covid, it has grown year on year with progressive riding now being offered as well as therapeutic riding, carriage driving, vaulting and hippotherapy.  We have run some amazing programmes, when funding and resources allow – supporting refugees, young people in care, young adults looking for employability skills, and many others.  Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers is passionate about making a difference  and to deliver our mission to provide a fully inclusive and accessible community of caring people working in partnership with horses to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

The Role:
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in the strategic oversight, governance, and hands-on support of the Equine Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your skills and enthusiasm to a well-loved organisation that makes a real difference in the community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Commitment to the values and mission of the Centre
  • Willingness to be a hands-on Trustee who contributes time, energy, and practical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A background in any of the following areas is especially welcome: finance, company secretarial/legal, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, fundraising, marketing, or operations

Time Commitment:

  • Quarterly board meetings (in person or hybrid)
  • Participation in sub-committees (typically bi-monthly or quarterly)
  • Support for Centre events, programmes, and ad hoc projects (flexible based on availability)

Benefits of Being a Trustee:

  • Make a meaningful impact in your community
  • Work with passionate people in a supportive team
  • Learn more about therapeutic equine practices and inclusive programming
  • Share your skills for a great cause

The Cavalier Centre encourages applications from individuals from all backgrounds and from communities currently under-represented on our board.  We value a range of mixed voices and aspire to a governance which reflects the diversity of our county and the people we support.
